Hermit Songs Project: A Music Film Campaign

Update: Thanks to 133 backers and countless other supporters, we've successfully managed to raise 125% of our goal!! A HUUUUUGE thank you to all who made this possible!

It's funny the way things work out. You might remember that I did a series of promo photos for Heidi Wall a while back. What I didn't know was that she was working together with soprano, Natasha Campbell, who I went to a specialized arts high school with. Natasha has always had a bit of a thing for Samuel Barber's Hermit Songs and since they were both working on them together with plans to record them, they thought they'd reach out to me to see if we could all reach a larger audience together by adding a film component to complement the songs. And so...we put our heads together and came up with a really fun Kickstarter campaign in an effort to fund it, so that we're able to make the best possible film we're capable of:

The support and personal messages from friends, family and complete strangers has been crazy encouraging, but we still have a long way to go! It would be huge if you could share our project with others in your network, connect with us on facebook and please feel free to contact us directly with any questions or to just plain say hi! We're also thrilled to see that Kickstarter has actually noticed our video out of so many campaigns - they've reached out to say they're endorsing us (with that little blue "Project We Love" button in the screenshot below) making us one of the 0.06% of current projects they're actively supporting:

A HUUUUUGE thanks for all the love and we're excited to get to work on a truly special collaboration!

A while back I posted a short preview of YTV's Summer Road Trip, but never came back to the rest of the fun from that day. This #TBT is definitely a good excuse to re-live the fun from warmer days.... Thanks to everyone at YTV for the super good time and for the community effort!

MeU Wearable Technology

MeU with Eric Hicks

MeU with Eric Hicks

Wearable Tech has become a big deal and Toronto has turned into a hotbed of activity. I first saw MeU on the runway at TOM* and was super excited to work with founder Robert Tu on their recent rebranding.

MeU makes LED panels that are outfitted in clothing to display static or motion graphics/text, which has a range of applications from advertising logo or message display at functions to cyclist safety at night. The added bonus is that it also looks cool. Whenever I've been around MeU and their panels, there's always lots of interest and people are very curious about it. For more information, visit their website here.

No Wearable Tech conversation is complete without mentioning Tom Emrich and the community he's built here (and afar). Keep up with WeAreWearables in your city at their monthly Meetups here.
